Environmental Policy

At Kit Heath we are committed to enriching lives, through our Ethical Policy, by promoting responsible, ethical, human rights, social and environmental practices throughout our business, our employees and our business partners, which includes our complete supply chain for all our products.

We comply with UK, EU and US legislation, and fully support the sentiments and applicable codes of practice relating to the International Labour Organisation Conventions, the Responsible Jewellery Council, the Dangerous Substances and Preparations Regulations and the Kimberley Process.

We are committed to ensuring that all aspects of our daily business lives comply with our Ethical Policy in a fully integrated manner, with every employee being accountable for ensuring they play their part. This covers every element and process within our business.

Major impacts

We shall ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and regulations and take action to continuously improve our environmental performance.

In particular we shall:

  • Take sustainability considerations into account when selecting our suppliers and contractors. This means no blood diamonds or child labour.
  • Use resources wisely by reducing resource use and reusing or recycling materials wherever possible. We do this lots, from the office paper and scrap metal we send to recycle right through to products that we source for our jewellery.
  • Improve the efficiency of energy use in our buildings and other activities such as marketing events. From energy saving light bulbs to making staff cycle to work!
  • Prevent or minimise the risk of pollution arising from our operations, we seek carbon neutral suppliers where ever we can.

Implementation

We will ensure this policy is implemented throughout our operations by:

  • Training ensuring all our employees understand the sustainability impacts of their own jobs. We are always finding ways and means to make our mark on the world a positive one rather than a negative one.
  • Informing all suppliers, contractors and sub-contractors of the requirement to comply with this policy when providing goods and services.
  • Reviewing sustainability issues, on a regular basis, at the highest level within the organisation.
  • Being open to suggestions and recommendations from all our customers.
